Halfway to Mount Rushmore

After we published an interview with Mary Doria Russell, author of the new novel Dreamers of the Day, we learned to our delight that not only does Ms. Russell have a dachshund, but her literary agent has two of them. So here, for the month that includes Independence Day, are Lincoln (the lighter of the two) and Jefferson.
