We've had rave reviews over the Hug-A-Dog Harness®. It hugs
your doxie just as you do.
Made of cool, heavy-duty, poly knit mesh, this harness goes
on easy with Velcro® closures — no straps to untangle. And no
binding or scraping behind your dog's front legs. The vest-like
design transfers most of the pressure from the neck to the chest area ... much
better for a doxie's sensitive back.
There are a lot of harness vests on the market now, but we were the first, and we are still the best. Each harness vest is
made by hand (and sewing machine) in our workshop in northeast Ohio.
And even if the dachshund isn't your breed (or if you have a
friend who has another breed), we can still help you. This harness was
originally called Hug-A-Dox™, but it proved so popular that we now produce it
for all breeds.
And all of our harnesses are veterinary approved.

the page. The harness is available in white or black black mesh in a variety of
trim colors, and in a variety of fabrics. Our dear Stubby

To get the proper size, measure around your dog's girth
(that is, measure around the heaviest part of the dog's chest, just behind the
front legs) and tell us that measurement.

You wouldn't drive without your seat belt, would you? Should
your doxie friend ride with you without being held? We thought not.
But how can you drive and hold a dog at the same time? You
can't, which is why you need the Hold-A-Dog™ Harness, the seatbelt version of the Hug-A-Dog Harness®, just like the one Peewee
is wearing in the picture above.
This harness (originally called the Hold-A-Dox Harness) combines our ever-popular Hug-A-Dog
Harness®, also described on this page, with a special fitting adapted for use
with a seat belt. That means that it works equally well as a walking harness
when you walk your dog or a seatbelt harness when you act as his chauffeur.
Please note that your harness will not include a seat belt
loop unless you specifically request it on the order form!
It's available in the same colors as the Hug-A-Dog Harness®,
and, as with the Hug-A-Dog Harness®, you will need to measure around your
dog's girth (that is, measure around the heaviest part of the dog's chest, just
behind the front legs) and tell us that measurement so that we can give you the
proper size.

Special Notice: Harnesses and DreamSacks, because each is made to order, take three to four weeks to ship.
We have never endorsed dachshund racing that harms dogs, but for
years, we put a Doxy Racing Team patch on each harness. A number of you
didn't care for that, so we stopped. Then others of you wanted the patch and
asked for it. So we offer it as an option. It will cost you an extra $3, and
you will find a place on the order form to specify it. Or, you can also
choose to have a patch of our Hug-A-Dog logo!
